Role: Social Media Intern

Time Commitment: ~20 hours/week

Location: Hybrid, in-office 1-2 days/week (as needed) in Downtown Chicago

Start Date: May/June 2026 (earliest available)

End Date: August/September 2026 with potential to extend

Pay: $2,500-$3,000 total stipend dependent on term


Responsibilities:

  • Edit basic short-form video content using CapCut

  • Help manage our internal social media accounts by:

    • Writing captions

    • Posting content

    • Responding to comments and DMs

  • Create simple, on-brand social graphics using Canva

  • Appear on camera for content on our internal accounts (@seventhhousemarketing and @seventhhouseacademy), with occasional on-camera support for client content when needed

  • Assist with client photoshoots and events, including:

    • Preparing shot lists and props

    • Setting up and breaking down on shoot days

  • Keep internal and client files organized and up to date

  • Monitor and respond to inbound emails in a timely, professional way


Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be based in Chicago

  • Experience video editing using CapCut, to produce polished, social optimized videos

  • Experience using Canva, to create visually striking and brand-consistent graphics

  • Must be comfortable in front of the camera

  • Possess an understanding of social media landscape, including content ideas, trends, and opportunities

  • Showcase knowledge of Google products (Drive, Sheets, Docs)

  • Embrace constructive feedback and adeptly incorporate it into work processes

  • Ability to project manage with a keen awareness of return on investment and the impact of efforts

  • Excel in multitasking abilities and maintain high productivity levels, whether working independently or collaboratively

  • Flexible working schedule
